SAXON Frontman Weighs In On TOSHIBA's Decision To Halt HD DVD Production

February 23, 2008

SAXON frontman Biff Byford was interviewed on the February 20, 2008 edition of the Japanese news program "Ohayou Nippon" about Toshiba's decision to discontinue developing, manufacturing and marketing HD DVD players and recorders. The report can be seen below (Biff appears around the 2:51 mark).

Toshiba Corporation announced on Tuesday (February 19) that it has undertaken a thorough review of its overall strategy for HD DVD and has decided it will no longer develop, manufacture and market HD DVD players and recorders. This decision was made following recent major changes in the market. Toshiba will continue, however, to provide full product support and after-sales service for all owners of Toshiba HD DVD products.

This decision will not impact on Toshiba's commitment to standard DVD, and the company will continue to market conventional DVD players and recorders.
